Want to display a free counter on your website, but unimpressed by the boring buttons and displays offered by most free services?  Welcome to GroovyStats, a free counter service which recognizes that bland and boring isn't for everyone!  We've got fun, colorful buttons to enhance the look of your website and to display the number of visitors, and you'll have access to basic visitor statistics as well.  It's easy to use and setup, and best of all, it's totally free!

In case you're wondering how GroovyStats was born, here's a little background information.  In early 2003 we started the free website statistics service called RetroStats.  While users loved the detailed stats and the fun interface, we had many requests for a visible counter as well.   That's how GroovyStats.com was born.  We hope you'll agree that it's simple to use and nice to look at, as well as highly accurate!

What does a GroovyStats account include?

When you sign up for your free GroovyStats accounts, you'll be given a small snippet of javascript code to place in the html portion of your website.  As as result, you'll receive:

• A visible counter display on your website, i.e. 12345
• The ability to login to your account to view more detailed stats info
• Visitor totals, hit totals, and visitor projections based on past data
• Information about referrers and referring keywords
• Information about visitor operating systems, displays, and languages
• Information about most recent visitors, including IP addresses

GroovyStats only retains visitor stats for a 30 day period, although your hit counter will always display the correct totals.   If you desire statistical analysis over a long period of time (such as months or years), we suggest your try our companion service, RetroStats.  You can use both a RetroStats button and a GroovyStats counter on the same website.
